Ivan Santiago is a bass player that is leaving his mark on the Christian Music industry. Coming from a latino background, and having attended gospel churches for a large portion of his life, he posses a unique style. Ivan has played behind such artists as Dewayne Woods, Mary Alessi, Martha Munizzi, Angelo and Veronica, V3, William H. Murphy III, Joanne Rosario, The University of Central Florida Gospel Choir, Kurt Carr and the Kurt Carr Singers, Seres, Niyoki, DJ. Maj (Of Toby Mac’s Diverse City), Giovanni Hidalgo, Mr. Talkbox, Jimmy Needham, Brooke Barrettsmith, Mandisa and George Huff (American Idol Finalists), Calvin Nowell, Liquid, Cece Winans, Bishop Paul Morton, Dottie Peoples, B. Reith, Group 1 Crew and Nicole C. Mullen, His resume is both extensive and musically diverse. Not many players can maneuver into such various musical styles (Gospel, R&B, Hip Hop, Rock and Latin) as Ivan Santiago can and has.
Currently Ivan is the bass player and Musical Director for Danny Gokey, American Idol’s season 8 2nd runner-up.
When not traveling, Ivan is busy doing studio sessions for various artists in Nashville, TN and playing around town with the Latin Jazz band “El Movimiento” (a new latin Jazz project which is causing a buzz in the local Nashville music scene). Ivan is also promoting his 1st instrumental bass project entitled “Bass Praise.”
